Longer, Cheaper, Better Subsea Tiebacks
Safe Marine Transfer, LLC (SMT) has developed new patent issued solutions to radically reduce the cost of subsea development and safely extend tie-back distances to 100 miles. Formed in 2013, the company was awarded significant seven-figure funding and support from DOE/NETL, RPSEA, DeepStar, and other industry partners. SMT has built and tested sub-assemblies and is currently qualifying a dual barrier, pressure compensated, subsea chemical storage and injection kit, designed for ‘chemical delivery as a service’. Also presented will be an overview of the SMT Subsea ShuttleTM, capable of low-cost placement and recovery of 600 ton payloads to 10,000 fsw.
