SNAME Offshore Symposium
We recognize that our industry is going through difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and several companies and institutions are operating at less-than-optimal capacities. Consequently, we have received opinions from many SNAME stakeholders that indicate a further extension of the abstract deadline is necessary to enable all willing participants to contribute to our symposium. We are therefore extending the deadline to November 30th, 2020.
We also want to show our support to our student sections during this time, and would like to offer a 1-year SNAME student membership to all the student authors with accepted final manuscripts.
All authors with accepted manuscripts will receive full complimentary registration for the Symposium.
In line with safety measures implemented by SNAME and the State of Texas due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, our 2021 SNAME Offshore Symposium will be completely virtual.
We believe this has the following benefits for the symposium:
- Eliminates the burden of travel for our authors and participants, enabling attendance from the comfort of your home or office
- Increased participation; and attendees can easily switch between sessions (technical, networking, break-out room / discussions, etc.)
- Sessions will be recorded, so attendees can access all technical content during/after the symposium
- Extended Live Q&A sessions for robust technical discussion and many other networking opportunities!
Although this will be our first virtual symposium, we are extremely committed to delivering high-quality technical contents, and a well-rounded exciting experience for our attendees. We will be sending out updates in the coming weeks, regarding details of the virtual symposium. As always, we encourage you to share your knowledge and experience at this exciting gathering by submitting an abstract of a paper that you wish to present.
